BBQ lessons in Annandale’s Little Korea

Introducing Korea Town. Everyone in DC knows Chinatown, the revitalized nightlife/office district where the only thing Chinese about it  is the sign translations for Bed Bath and Beyond and Urban Outfitters. Most also know the Eden Center, the Vietnamese strip mall in Falls Church. But few have ventured to Annandale’s Korea Town.

Although, the city of Annandale has worked hard to move its image beyond being the suburban capital of Karaoke, it hasn’t worked well. There’s a reason for that.  The segment of Columbia Pike that runs through here is a strip of Korean restaurants. Many are BBQ joints, and the most popular is Honey Pig . At 7 pm on Friday night, the restaurant was packed (below). The line for a table trailed out the door.
